1. How can I show endangered animals?
2. How can I show human impact on animals?
3. How can I show why the animals are endangered?
In piece #1 Pollination a bee is seen flying to a honeycomb. Bees have become an endangered species because od harmful pesticides and chemicals. For this piece I experimented with acrylic paint and gold paint pens. In piece #2 The Elephants, shows a mother and a baby elephant waling through the African grasslands. I used Acrylic, paint pens and sand for the ground. The black silhouette is to show the endangered animals themselves. In piece #3 the Manatee I used sand mixed with acrylic paint. I also added real pieces of plastic to show that animals deal with micro plastics in the ocean and can be harmful. I like this piece because the 3d element of the trash made it look real. In piece #4 the Cheetah I experimented with not just using an all-black silhouette. The cheetahs’ spots are shown which I thought looked cool. I used acrylic paint on cardboard and newspaper. In piece #5 the Koala I wanted to show the actual human impact on the endangered animal. Global warming created the forest fires that many animals dealt with including koalas. I used acrylic paint for this piece.
